17 Weeks

How far along? 17 weeks
Maternity clothes? Broke down and bought a pair of black dress pants for work.I need to find some more pants though. I can't just wear black pants every day! I'll still have to make my other pants work until I really outgrow them. I also bought 2 actual maternity tops, as well as a few looser non maternity shirts that should get me through most of the pregnancy.  It's too chilly to wear all of the maxi dresses & skirts yet.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good.
Best moment this week: I told CJ to feel my belly as there was a spot that felt really hard compared to other spots. He was able to feel that something was there, but after poking it a few times you weren’t able to feel it anymore. Anyone “outside” my belly is still unable to feel any movement. They say between 20-24 weeks is when people say they are able to feel movement. Seeing joy on his face was pretty exciting!
Miss anything? Margaritas! (This will make my list quite a few times once warmer weather hits)
Movement:  Yes. Baby seems to get pretty rowdy after I eat those sour Trolli gummy worms
Food cravings this week: Milk, French toast.  I think I made French toast for dinner 4 nights this week! Adding suckers to the list. I’ve been wanting any and all kinds of suckers!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just pizza & bumpy roads!
Gender: We will find out on March 14th!!!
Symptoms: ‘night sickness’ came back to visit me for 1 night this past week.
This week baby is the size of: an onion
Baby’s development this week:  Baby should be about 5 inches and weighs about 5 ounces. Baby’s cartilage body is working its way to turning into bones now. Baby is definitely growing -  A few times this week I have stood up after sitting down and I could feel that baby was in a certain spot in the front of my belly, which is pretty uncomfortable. Normally if I poke it a few times it will move though! I highly doubt that poking will work once baby gets  even bigger!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty neutral

Looking forward to:  Katie (CJ's cousin) is due today! Come out baby girl! Kaylee, (CJ's Brother's wife) is due March 3, but Cooper may be making an early appearance! Also have my mom's birthday Wednesday, dad's birthday Thursday, and Jennifer's (my brother's wife) birthday on Friday! February and March are big birthday months in the Torosian/Dummer household!

16 Weeks

How far along? 16 weeks
Maternity clothes? None yet, but pretty soon. I’ve started to put away some of my “smaller”
shirts because they are fitting tighter than what I like. By the end of the night I can’t wait to put on stretchy pants as my pants get really tight by the time I am done with work! A few times I have had to unbutton my pants because they are really tight by the end of the day!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good.
Best moment this week: Spending the weekend with CJ enjoying our 4 year anniversary. We spent the weekend up north at our family cabin in Antigo. It was nice and relaxing with just the two of us and our fur baby – Lacey.
Miss anything? Hot tubs! I wanted to go to the Dells for our anniversary but CJ said no because I am not allowed in hot tubs! Don’t want to cook baby!
Movement: I’m thinking so. I felt more flutters than I previously have. Feels like a muscle twitch, but for how often it happens I’m thinking it’s movement and not a muscle twitch.
Food cravings this week: Milk (still). This week I am adding French toast to the cravings list! Can’t seem to get enough French toast this week!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Smell of pizza & all of the bumps in the roads. This winter has been brutal on the roads by us. I seem to notice every bump.
Gender: We will find out on March 14th!!! We did do this ‘just for fun’ test called Intelligender. It basically works like a pregnancy test, but the results are by color. Deep Orange = girl, and Dark Green = boy. The company claims to be about 80% accurate in their results. I’m not going to share the results because we might be doing a gender reveal party and I don’t want any biased opinions of what baby might be!
Symptoms: ‘night sickness’ came back to visit me for 3 nights this past week. L
This week baby is the size of: an Avacado
Baby’s development this week:  Baby should be about 4 ½ inches and weighs about 3 ½ ounces. It’s heart pumps about 25 quarts throughout it’s body in one whole day! It’s also supposed to be listening to my voice. (Too bad baby’s not listening to me when I tell it that it needs to stop making me sick!)
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: I am getting really tired of the cold weather & snow. I’m ready for (at least) 50’s & sunshine!
Looking forward to: Our fur baby turns 4 this week.

Lacey is extremely sweet, loves to snuggle, and has a little bit of sass in her. She gets excited to see anyone and everyone, even if it’s only been 5 minutes since the last time she saw you. She has only been really naughty a few times which I am pretty thankful for. When she was about 5 months she ate a perfect hole through a whole watermelon that I just bought that morning, she destroyed a plant & dragged dirt all over our new carpet, attempted to eat Grandma Torosian’s wedding ring (luckily she spit it out!), escaped our tent in the middle of the night/early morning when we were camping in our yard, and ate ½ of dad’s $100 bill (which we were able to replace with a new one!)  Here’s to our first baby!

16 Week Pictures! Sorry about the bad pictures it was late at night and I was already in my pjs!

"Follow by email" to stay updated + 4 Years!

Today I was asked a question on how will you ever know if I post something new to the blog. There should be a little box located to the right -> that says "Follow by email." If your enter in your email address, the website should send you an email notification every time I add something new.

P.S. - this Sunday marks CJ and my 4 year anniversary already! How crazy is that?! It seems like just yesterday we were leaving for Cancun where we would spend the most memorable 10 days with family and friends who were there to celebrate our special day. Here's a little flashback to some of my favorite pictures. 80 degrees and sunny the whole day. Doesn't get much better than that! :)

Enjoy your day!

Start of Second Trimester

Second Trimester

February 3 starts week 14 and the second trimester!! Yay I made it out of the first trimester which was not very fun for me since I have been sick 90% of the time. At 14 weeks I am still feeling kind of nauseous but not as much as the first 13 weeks. I have made it 6 days without getting sick, although I had to start over at day 7. :( That's ok though, as I now can appreciate not feeling nauseous all of the time!

February, 3, 2014

We heard the heartbeat for the first time at 14 weeks! Dr. Burke (my doctor in Milwaukee) says that baby has a strong heartbeat and sounds healthy. The heartbeat was 145.  You know they say in the old wives tales  that heartbeats 140’s and under will indicate a boy, and heartbeat’s 140 and over will be a girl. Of course, we are right in the middle, so it could indicate a boy or girl still! But as I have done more research about the heartbeats, I really can't go off of what the heartbeat is. Guess we will just have to wait until the next ultrasound! I do however, have a feeling that baby will be a boy. That's just a thought that I have had since finding out we were expecting. Of course I would take a healthy baby in either gender.

February 11, 2014 - 15 weeks

Here's where I was going to change up my posts since I am caught up on my blogging & in the current pregnancy week. I have looked at a few blogs that mommies will post generic information and milestones during that week as well as post a picture of their bump. I figured I would follow suit and do something similar.  I probably won't post pictures every week, but I will post occasional photos. If you would like me to include other information in addition to the information below just let me know!

How far along? 15 weeks today
Maternity clothes? None yet
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. No crazy / out of the ordinary dreams that some people claim to get.
Best moment this week: Going 6 days and not getting sick!
Miss anything? Having an occasional drink, and lunch meat
Movement: I think so. I will occasionally feel a flutter once a day or every other day. I could describe it as a goldfish bumping into the side of it's tank! Could also be compared to a muscle twitch.
Food cravings this week: Milk & Fruit Loops (not together)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Smell of pizza
Gender: We don’t know yet. We will find out on March 14th!!!
Symptoms: Weeks 14-15 seem to be a little better with less nausea, but still not 100%. I have been getting headaches which they say are common for 2nd trimester.
This week baby is the size of: a softball
Baby's development this week: About 4 inches long and weighs around 2.5 ounces. Baby can move all of its joints and limbs. Baby is also forming taste buds this week.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Feeling kind of blah. I’d say my mood is pretty neutral & just going through the motions. Not too happy or too sad.

Looking forward to: March 4th - next heartbeat, March 14th – gender! April 9-15 Vacation in Florida!!!

First Trimester – Weeks 4-13

First Trimester – Weeks 4-13

Since finding out we are expecting, we have been reading up on our “What to Expect” books to help prepare us for the next upcoming 9 months. 9 months just seems like an eternity from now, but I am sure it will go by fast. We have started to clean out the spare room which has served as a “store-all” room for the past 4 years.  I feel overwhelmed every time I walk into the spare room because there are so many things that we just never had the space to put those things in the first place and now I have to reorganize and find room anyways We will eventually have to find a new place to store things like our bed sheets, gift boxes, and sleeping bags as those are the type of things are stored in the spare room. We have also started to purchase our first of many boxes of diapers! We chose to go with Pampers – Swaddlers based on reviews by other moms.  We have also started to collect a few gender neutral onsies and a few books...I just couldn't help myself!!! Baby also has it's first packer onsies compliments of "Auntie Mandee!"

Everyone in the family and close friends now know that I am pregnant. The majority of the family and close friends found out between 7-9 weeks. CJ continues to tell everyone in sight about our news! I have told a few people at work. All of which are very excited! I get asked the same questions by everyone which include: When are you due, how are you feeling, are you excited, and what are you having, or hope to have?

Here is a picture of when we told "Grandma and Grandpa Torosian." We took them out in mid December as a "birthday dinner" for both Chuck and Theresa. Little did they know we had a huge surprise for them! The onsie says pink or blue, baby's due August 2014!

Cravings: I have had a few cravings, but cravings for me are not so much as “oh my goodness, I NEED to have that,” it’s more around the “Oh that sounds good, I want that.” Typically once I have the food I am craving, the cravings normally go away. I have noticed that I get a craving after I see a tv add or some kind of food on Pinterest! I have not yet craved anything crazy that I have not eaten before or anything crazy like pickles with ice cream or big macs! I just read a post from an expecting mother who craved bagels & cream cheese with potato chips on top! Food that has sounded good to me so far are Krispy Kreme doughnuts, rice krispy treats, cupcakes, and Doritos - nacho cheese kind.

Feeling: At 6 weeks I started to feel pretty nauseous which seems to start around 5 pm and lasts all night. I occasionally will have some really bad days where I am sick all day. The doctor has prescribed an anti-nausea medicine called Zofran which has really helped with some of the nausea although I try not to take it all of the time.

Baby: Throughout the first trimester baby has done some serious developing and growing. Although you can’t tell I am pregnant yet, baby has grown from the size of a poppy seed to the size of a peach. Baby has done the majority of its organ development by now and has fingers and toes. From here on out, baby’s organs and will continue to grow along with baby itself.

January 3, 2014

We had our first ultrasound at 9 weeks on January 3. It was so amazing to see this little bean that was bouncing around. We could see it’s heart beating and its arms and legs moving around. I cried as it is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. CJ was ecstatic.  I have never seen him so happy before. Too bad I didn't think to sneak a picture of his reaction.  Maybe at the next ultrasound if I think about it.  Below is a picture of the first ultrasound picture!

I am also including 2 pictures of my bump which is pretty nonexistent at 12 weeks. Baby was also the size of a lime at 12 weeks.

We're Expecting!

To all friends and family thanks for stopping on by! Since a lot of family are from out of town I thought that I would give this whole blogging thing a try as a fun way for everyone to stay informed about baby's progress and a way of documenting our adventure over the next 9 months. I can't promise that I will be any good at this, but I will do my best to stay on top of everything and by keeping everyone informed! I'm starting the blog a little late, so the first trimester will just be one big recap.

Wednesday, November 27th is the day that CJ and I found out we were expecting! I kind of thought that I might be pregnant, but didn't want to mention it to CJ as I wanted him to be surprised! Since I'm an avid Pinterest user I had 'pinned' a lot of cool ideas of how I could tell CJ and I wanted to do something fun and memorable for him. Being that CJ didn't even know that I was thinking about taking a test, I snuck away to take a test while he was getting ready for bowling. Once the two pink lines showed up I quickly wrote a note that said “I can’t wait to meet you daddy!”  Below is a picture of CJ's reaction to the test and the note.
